Hi,Im Spencer Myles
Spencer Myles is a founding member, lead vocalist, and guitarist of Hire Stranger. Originally from Sacramento, California, Spencer spent most of his musical career playing bass before stepping into a new role at the front of the band.
He first met fellow founding member Wyatt Longley while playing in FarReaches, another local rock project the two shared. Before moving to Seattle, Spencer played in the Spokane-based pop-punk band Fine Line, where he developed a strong ear for vocal melodies and melodic bass lines.
As Hire Stranger’s primary songwriter, Spencer draws heavily from personal experience, weaving together themes of hope, depression, longing, and perseverance. His writing is defined by coy phrasing, emotional honesty, and a grounded sense of self-reflection. As a guitarist, he brings an aggressive, in-your-face energy to the band’s sound, drawing inspiration from artists such as Alkaline Trio, Social Distortion, Against Me!, and The Gaslight Anthem.
He is also officially the only construction worker in the band. Come say hello and talk AC theory with him at the next show.
